Lucy Parle’s latest single, Burn for You, is a country cover of the original John Farnham song. Leaning on a traditional country landscape, the song features Lucy’s cozy twang, anchored on beautiful country sounds.

“Having previously released only original songs, I chose to cover Burn for You because it is a beautiful Australian song with heartfelt lyrics. I fell in love with it and being true to my sound, I recorded it as a country song with my signature twang over a blend of banjo, mandolin and fiddle. Being authentic to the emotion in the lyrics, what you hear is my raw voice with no fancy production tricks,” says Lucy.

Like many starry-eyed singers, Lucy started out playing to whoever would listen. Attending school during the week, then frequenting every market, café, restaurant, or pub on the weekend, the talented 12-year-old was well and truly hustling. “My mum would always be close by and I remember sometimes I would just be playing to her,” Lucy says. “Sometimes I would even busk outside Coles while I waited for my mum to do the shopping.”

Her commitment paid dividends with accolades and opportunities coming swiftly. Her songwriting is fearless; her voice, self-assured; and her sound, equally authentic and fresh.
